Velan Hotel Greenfields
has established its market. Velan Hotel, Coonoor
has done the same, but there is still scope for
growth. The goodwill that Velan enjoys has been
earned through hard work and a bit of good
fortune.
Velan can look ahead because
Greenfields has been maintained quite superbly as
well as Velan Hotel, Coonoor. There is a
significant improvement in the number of Fairs or
Exhibitions held in Tirupur. At the moment,
Tirupur hosts at least 4 to 5 major fairs in a
year that lasts at least 3 to 4 days per fair. The
best of them is the Knit-tech, a machinery fair.
This was held in Greenfield's premises for the
first time in mid-2001. A couple more of such
fairs would be held only in Greenfield's premises
in the years to come. Occupancy during such fairs
can reach a quite imaginable 100%, that too with
out much discounting.
With the increasing
optimism in the finance sector, Velan
Hotel,Coonoor can also look ahead with an
increasing flow of tourism and better tea prices
leading to better expenditure by the tea planters.
Well, things are interrelated.
In Tirupur, there is a set of people
(a big set) who want some one with the expertise
to conduct their marriages and other such social
ceremonies. In India, the number of social
ceremonies are very high. For Velan to tap this
market, a state of the art conference hall with a
capacity of 1000 to 1500 is required immediately.
Other than this, some other plan exists for
immediate expansion including bar
modernization.
